IS.Retail recognized as a “PME Líder” and “PME Excelência” company by IAPMEI

IS.Retail has recently been awarded the “PME Líder” and “PME Excelência” statuses, distinctions granted by IAPMEI (Portuguese Institute for the Support of Small and Medium Enterprises and Innovation), which recognise the financial strength, management capacity, and performance of Portuguese companies. These distinctions reinforce IS.Retail’s reputation as a reliable, innovative organisation committed to operational excellence.

The recognition reflects the consistent and rigorous work carried out by IS.Retail’s teams, highlighting not only financial performance but also the ability to provide high-quality and trustworthy technological solutions to clients and partners.

For IS.Retail, these distinctions represent external validation of the collective effort and dedication of all teams, reinforcing an internal culture of continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.

Externally, the SME Leader and SME Excellence seals strengthen trust with clients, partners, and financial institutions, opening doors to new business opportunities and further highlighting IS.Retail’s position in the market.

IS.Retail has been certified by APCER in accordance with the DNP TS 4577-1:2021 v2 standard, achieving the Digital Cybersecurity Seal – Silver Level.

To further strengthen trust and commitment towards its clients, IS.Retail was one of the first companies to align its processes with the requirements of the NIS2 Directive, the European Union legislation that establishes cybersecurity obligations for essential and important entities.

The decision to pursue this certification aimed to increase transparency and confidence in internal cybersecurity and information security processes, highlighting the consistent and rigorous work carried out by the teams. This recognition not only provides external validation of these practices, but also confirms IS.Retail’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Internally, the distinction was received with enthusiasm and pride, being seen as recognition of the teams’ efforts. The process allowed for greater visibility of existing cybersecurity practices, reinforced a culture of continuous improvement, and established quality standards for future audits.

Externally, the certification helped formalise best practices already in place, strengthening IS.Retail’s reputation among clients and partners. This recognition has also facilitated access to new business opportunities, positioning IS.Retail as a benchmark in cybersecurity and certified compliance.

IS.Retail and the University of Beira Interior (UBI) develop a Computer Vision project

IS.Retail is developing a Computer Vision project in partnership with UBI – University of Beira Interior, Faculty of Engineering, focused on advanced image analysis and automatic detection solutions.

The initiative combines IS.Retail’s technological expertise and logistics know-how with UBI’s academic expertise, aiming to optimise processes, automate tasks, and increase operational accuracy. The project is currently ongoing, reinforcing IS.Retail’s commitment to innovation, applied science, and knowledge transfer.

The project applies advanced machine learning and computer vision techniques to analyse large volumes of visual data, creating tools capable of supporting decision-making and increasing efficiency in industrial and logistics environments. This practical approach allows scientific knowledge from academia to be applied directly to real-world challenges.

In addition, the collaboration strengthens the relationship between industry and academia, promoting opportunities for joint research and paving the way for future innovative solutions. The joint work also provides training and hands-on experience for students and researchers, contributing to the development of high-value skills in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
