By the end of the 90's, the importance of the logistic sector started to increase in Europe and particularly in Portugal.
A dynamic situation was created. Partly due to international logistics operators entering the market, partly by local companies demanding new technologies and new work methods in their distribution centres.
As many companies had already optimised their commercial operations, they started looking towards gaining benefits through supply chains.
With the adoption of this new perspective, the supply chain needed to provide improvements at a lower cost. Increased productivity, less errors and improved efficiency were the order of the day.
A group of software developers from an Italian software house decided to take advantage of this market opportunity. They developed a software product targeted at this Portuguese emerging market . They wanted to develop a system from scratch, in order to use newly available technology, without having to look after legacy systems.
Isretail was created with a base in Italy. Overtime the company has become more independent and after only one year the software was developed entirely in Portugal.
